Rohit Sharma admits performances in big games are important but they don’t define the career of a player

India will face England in the semi final of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Adelaide on 10th November.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has made a bold statement ahead of the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 against England. He said that although performances in a knockout game are important from a player’s perspective they don’t define one’s career.

“Knock-outs and it’s performances are important, but it will not define your career,” Rohit Sharma ahead of the semi-final against England

India is all set to clash with England in the semi-final of the T29 World Cup 2022 on Thursday (9th November) in Adelaide. The Rohit Sharma-led side has had a couple of good net sessions and is ticking almost every box in their preparation.

India displayed a sensational performance in the league stage as they ended their group as the table toppers. They kickstarted their campaign with a staggering 5-wicket win over Pakistan and then except for South Africa, they defeated everyone in their group.

All their hard work will now pay off if they manage to bag two more wins and bring the trophy home. With just 1 day remaining for the semi-final, skipper Rohit Sharma addressed the press conference and talked about the preparations.

He also talked about the pressure of the knockout games, saying that although they are important from a player’s point of view but they don’t define a career. He said:

“Knock-outs and it’s performances are important, but it will not define ur career, you play and put in a lot of effort in a year, yet knock-outs are very important”.

“Suryakumar Yadav likes to express himself at any situation,” Rohit Sharma

Suryakumar Yadav has set the stage on fire in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. The right-hander has batted with positive intent every time he has come to bat and is currently the third-leading run-scorer in the tournament. Skipper Rohit Sharma also talked about his teammate and said:

“Suryakumar Yadav likes to express himself at any situation like when the team is at 10 for 2 or 100 for 2”.

Both Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav will need to step up against England if India has to fancy their chances of winning the game and entering the final.
