“I actually felt quite sad”, Virender Sehwag reveals one incident when he got angry and shouted at Virat Kohli on the field

Virender Sehwag was a special character on the field and he is now maintaining that off the pitch, too. He never failed to express his feelings on the field. Here, we take a look as Virender Sehwag reveals one incident when he got angry and shouted at Virat Kohli on the field.

Virender Sehwag once got angry at Virat Kohli

Speaking to the BeerBiceps YouTube channel, Viru revealed some interesting facts about his career. He talked about his bowling, which often resulted in some crucial wickets. The former cricketer mentioned that he got some big batters such as Ponting, Hayden, Hussey, Sangakkara, Jayawardene, Dilshan, and Lara out with his bowling.

Sehwag recalled one incident when he could have achieved a bowling milestone but because Virat missed a catch, he could not do that. Hence, he got angry and shouted at him. Viru said, “I actually felt quite sad when Virat Kohli once dropped a dolly off me at midwicket once. I would have probably gotten to some bowling milestone, but he ended up putting it down. I got so angry, probably far more than when I missed a triple century. I told him come on man, you should have caught that.”

India needs an opener like Viru

It is high time that India needs an opener like Sehwag. The fearlessness combined with technical abilities is something that India misses across the formats at the top of the order.

Prithvi Shaw is probably the closest who can come to Sehwag at the moment. While he is good technically, he also is aggressive and always comes out with positive intent. This is a massive thing to have, especially when you take a look at India’s struggles in the powerplay in the shorter formats. The management needs to ensure that they can give more chances to Shaw at the earliest.
