The Indian cricket team is currently playing a five-match T20I series against the South African cricket team. Despite having many IPL stars in the squad and also having the home advantage, the Indian team is trailing by 0-2 in the five-match series. Former Pakistan cricket team skipper Salman Butt gave his views on India’s performance during a discussion on his YouTube channel.
Butt felt that the Indian cricket team’s fast-bowling attack lacks pace. Bhuvneshwar Kumar performed brilliantly because of his experience, but the other two fast bowlers, Avesh Khan, and Harshal Patel, have not made much of an impact in this series.
While some Indian cricket experts have opined that Arshdeep Singh should get a game instead of Avesh Khan, Salman Butt thinks that Umran Malik should make his T20I debut for the Men in Blue soon. Here’s what he said:
“India’s bowling has been lacking in pace. Bhuvneshwar did well in the 2nd T20I to claim four wickets and showed that experience matters. India have Umran Malik but they are not playing him. They are giving a chance to other youngsters, so I think he should have also got a chance. Pace is something that could have made a difference.”
