Ambati Rayudu’s cousin Rohit Rayudu set the stage on fire in the round 1 game between Hyderabad and Himachal Pradesh of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 at Palam A Stadium, Delhi.
Playing for Hyderabad, Rayudu smashed 156 runs in 144 balls and helped his side start the tournament on high. Opening the innings, the southpaw was a little bit cautious in the start after he lost his partner Tanmay Agarwal for just 9 runs.
Rayudu stitched a staggering 113-run partnership with Tilak Varma, who scored unbeaten 132 runs, and made sure that the early wicket didn’t put pressure on the team. Rayudu took Himachal bowlers to cleaners and smashed them all over the park.
He batted with a strike rate of 108.33 and smashed 14 fours and 8 sixes in his innings. Rayudu’s innings of 156 are the third-highest for Hyderabad in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. It helped his side post a massive total of 360 runs on the board.
