Michael Vaughan names a player who can be RCB captain after Virat Kohli

RCB will have to appoint a new captain after Virat Kohli stepped down

Michael Vaughan thinks that Jos Buttler can be an ideal choice for RCB captaincy after Virat Kohli left the post at the conclusion of RCB’s campaign in IPL 2021.

According to Vaughan, Virat Kohli will still be in that dressing room as a player and to captain a player of as big a stature as Kohli, you need someone who is a very skillful man manager.

As far as Buttler is concerned, he is a Rajasthan Royals player at the moment, and although he withdrew himself from the second leg of the IPL in the UAE, Rajasthan might still think of retaining him, given the fact that he is simply one of the best T20 players in the world.

Vaughan thinks RCB can consider bringing Jos Buttler in if Rajasthan releases him

However, if Rajasthan releases Buttler, then Vaughan thinks RCB can consider bringing the English wicketkeeper-batsman into the set-up and ask him to keep wickets as well as lead the side.

Vaughan reckons Jos Buttler has got it in him to lead the team the same way as MS Dhoni has done for Chennai because he is tactically very good.

“I will throw you a name. This name is out of the box. He’s from another franchise, and he may retain him, but I would choose Jos Buttler to go there and be the captain. He’s got it in him to be like MS Dhoni. I have no doubt about him,” Vaughan said on Cricbuzz Live.

Buttler has not got the opportunity to captain England in too many games, but he has been Eoin Morgan’s deputy for a long time and in whatever few games he has led the England side, he has looked to be someone who can hold his nerves in pressure situations and make good decisions.

However, how Buttler goes as a full-time captain remains to be seen because he has not done the job of a full-time captain at any level so far.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
