The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is currently underway, with a blockbuster match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Chennai Super Kings scheduled to happen later tonight at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. For the first time in the Indian Premier League history, fans will witness Faf du Plessis playing against the Chennai Super Kings.
In the past, du Plessis has also been a part of the Chennai Super Kings and the Rising Pune Supergiant squads. This year, the Royal Challengers Bangalore signed him at the mega auction and named him their new captain. Ahead of their first meeting in IPL 2022, the star players of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings caught up with each other during a practice session.
The Chennai Super Kings posted a video of Faf du Plessis hugging with his former teammates. He also had brief conversations with them. Chennai Super Kings batting coach Michael Hussey met du Plessis and here’s what Hussey told in a video posted on CSK’s social media handles:
“Obviously, we have got great memories with all of those guys; they have been with the team for a long time, Faf in particular. Once the guys crossed the line, it is just bat versus ball; CSK vs RCB, hopefully, we can come out on top, But it’ll be nice to shake hands afterward.”
