List of Commentators for IPL 2023 on TV
In the current era, it is very important that broadcasters take the game close to the masses. While fan engagement programs are one aspect, it is very vital for telecasters to have a good commentatory panel. In recent times, we have often seen many instances of consumers complaining of a bad experience of the game because of not-so-effective commentators.
This time around, there would be a different panel for TV and digital medium. Therefore, it was interesting to see the list from Star Sports, with Viacom 18 having already made their list clear. Sunil Gavaskar, Kevin Pietersen and Danny Morrison are some of the well-known names in English. In Hindi, we will have Sehwag, Bhajji, Irfan Pathan, and Sanjay Manjrekar amongst others. In the other regional languages, too, there are the usual names but some key individuals have moved to the OTT medium. The likes of Yusuf Pathan, Mithali Raj and S Sreesanth will be the new names this time around.

Some of the big names move to JioCinema
As expected when the media rights were announced, there was a competition between Star Sports and Viacom 18 for some of the best broadcasters. In this regard, the likes of Harsha Bhogle and Aakash Chopra will be available on the digital medium.
Especially for the regional TV channels, the likes of Aakash Chopra will be a big miss. It needs to be seen how Star Sports will tackle this.
