Rishabh Pant and freakish shots go hand in hand. Over his career, so far, Pant has played a number of such unorthodox shots. Against CSK in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2021, too, Pant pulled one more such shot out of his bank. In this article, we take a look at Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant’s one hand unbelievable 86-meter six against Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 1.

Delhi Capitals post a competitive target in the Qualifier 1

Delhi Capitals got off to a decent start after being put in to bat first. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw did well initially but CSK came back by picking the wickets of Shikhar and then Shreyas Iyer within a short time. DC was playing a batsman less in the game and hence, they had to promote Axar Patel to save their best batsmen for the death. However, this move did not come off as the all-rounder got out early. After Prithvi Shaw got out, DC came under immense pressure.

However, both Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer played responsibly and got Delhi out of the hole. It was the West Indian who took on the bowlers at the start but later Pant joined as well. Eventually, riding on half-centuries by Shaw and Pant, DC put on a total of 172 runs on the board.

Rishabh Pant’s one hand unbelievable 86-meter six

One of the highlights of the innings was the one-handed six by Rishabh. He played a few of them in the past but this one was special. Shardul Thakur was bowling the 16th over, and to a delivery that was directed towards the stump, Pant tried to slog but seemed to have had a change in mind at the last moment. However, he still went in with the shot and in the process, one hand came off the bat. The momentum then carried the ball all the way to an 86-meter six. You can watch the six in the link.
