Ahead of the first game, an interesting thing happened. Local boy Ishan Kishan was seen giving a huddle talk to the team instead of skipper Hardik Pandya. BCCI uploaded the video on their Twitter account with the caption “Ishan Kishan leads the huddle talk in Ranchi.”

Coming to the match, India won the toss and opted to field first. They left out the likes of Prithvi Shaw, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jitesh Sharma and Mukesh Kumar for the first game, giving a nod ahead to Shubman Gill and Kuldeep Yadav.
