James Anderson Reveals His Side Of Story About What Happened With Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah and James Anderson rivalry

There was an incredible match-up between Jasprit Bumrah and James Anderson at Lord’s which pumped up affairs in an already heated exchange between England and India.

Things spiralled out of control when Bumrah was batting, as Ollie Robinson and James Anderson peppered him with nasty sweet-chin-music more than once.

However, the Indian fast bowler, intimidated by the brutal bowling of the English fast-bowlers, continued with his resistance and played a perfect anchor to Mohammad Shami.

There was a nice little chemistry in the making at Lord’s in the first innings when James Anderson came out to bat. Until then the batters complained that the pitch has gotten slow. That is when Joe Root told him that Bumrah, India’s primary fast bowler isn’t really bowling at the pace that he usually does.

He saved his best for the last as he was simply waiting for James Anderson, to arrive at the crease. The southpaw felt the stinging heat of Bumrah’s pace while facing him towards the end of the English innings. Ideally, their attempt to get back at the man backfired as Bumrah and Shami forged a crucial partnership to sail them through the crisis.

Anderson’s Jasprit-Bumrah nightmare

Anderson revealed what Joe Root told him when he came out to bat in the first innings. He stated, “When I came out to bat, Joe said Bumrah was not bowling as quick as he normally does. And then, the first ball was 90 miles an hour and on the money, wasn’t it? And it felt like, I haven’t felt like this ever in my career. I felt he wasn’t trying to get me out.”

In fact, a few users posted on social media stating that Bumrah broke the code between fast bowlers, hammering him with relentless pace. Bumrah went wicket-less in the first innings but came back strongly in the second innings with three crucial wickets that included the likes of Rory Burns, Joe Root and Ollie Robinson.

He will be involved in India’s clash against England at Headingley that is all set to start tomorrow, and the outcome of this game can go a long way in shaping India’s fortunes in the second edition of the World Test Championship.
