Rohit Sharma in with a chance to break the world record of Sachin Tendulkar and AB de Villiers in England ODIs

In the upcoming ODI series against England, the Indian captain Rohit Sharma will have an opportunity to break the world record currently held by three elite players – Sachin Tendulkar, AB de Villiers, and Saeed Anwar.

While Sachin Tendulkar holds the record of scoring the most number of centuries ever in ODI cricket, he also holds the record of scoring the most number of centuries in an away country. Tendulkar has got 7 hundred to his name while playing in UAE.

As far as the other players are concerned, who are leveled up with Tendulkar in terms of scoring the most number of hundreds in an away country, they are Saeed Anwar, AB de Villiers, and Rohit Sharma.

Saeed Anwar was also very prolific in UAE just like Tendulkar and the left-hander scored 7 ODI hundreds there, while AB De Villiers scored 7 ODI hundreds in India and Rohit has scored 7 ODI hundreds in England so far.

If Rohit scores ano ther hundred in the upcoming ODI series against England, he will break the world record currently jointly held by him, Tendulkar, Anwar, and De Villiers.

Rohit Sharma seemed to be in good touch in the T20I series against England

Rohit might not have scored a hundred for a long time, but he seemed to be hitting the ball well in the recently finished T20I series and played a couple of very crisp cameos. If he gets a good start in one of the three ODIs and gets his rhythm going, there is no reason why he can’t score another ODI hundred in England.

Rohit’s old opening partner Shikhar Dhawan is back for the ODI series as well and these two, most often, seem to bat well together in an ODI game. The Indian fans would be hoping for good starts in the ODI series too, as they got in the first two T20 internationals which helped them win the T20I series.
