IPL 2020: 5 highest-paid uncapped players

IPL 2020 will begin on 19th September with a match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi. It is a rematch of last year’s final and the two teams had also battled in the opening match of IPL 2018. 

Talking about IPL 2020, over the last 12 years, this tournament has served as a stage for the upcoming talents to make a name for themselves. Many players like Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and others have made it big after succeeding in the IPL. 

The franchises have begun to invest in the uncapped players of the team as well. Here’s a look at the five highest-paid uncapped players of IPL 2020. 


Suryakumar Yadav – 3.20 Crores

Suryakumar Yadav has been performing consistently for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Because of his excellent performances, Yadav has secured a 3.20 Crores deal for IPL 2020 from the Mumbai-based franchise. 

Nitish Rana – 3.40 Crores

Kolkata Knight Riders has an exciting batting lineup for IPL 2020, featuring the likes of Tom Banton, Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell, Shubman Gill, and also Nitish Rana. The southpaw from Delhi has a contract of 3.40 Crores with the 2-time IPL winning team. 

Varun Chakhravarthy – 4 Crores

Another name from the Kolkata Knight Riders team to feature on this list is the mystery spin bowler Varun Chakhravarthy. The former Kings XI Punjab fetched a massive 4 crores deal in the auction and will be the player to look out for in the UAE. 


Ishan Kishan – 6.2 Crores

Mumbai Indians invested 6.2 Crores to sign Ishan Kishan in the IPL Auction. The left-handed batsman has performed exceptionally well with the bat. The team management will expect him to play with better consistency since his contract amount is so high. 

Krishnappa Gowtham – 6.2 Crores

Another domestic star earning 6.2 Crores from IPL 2020 is Kings XI Punjab’s all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham. The Karnataka-based star played for Rajasthan Royals in the last season, but after being released, he earned a massive contract of 6.2 Crores from the Mohali-based outfit. It will be interesting to see how he performs in IPL 2020.
