The three-match ODI series against West Indies will be crucial for India as it’ll be great preparation for India ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023. The BCCI recently named the squad for the three-match series and the combination for the series will give an idea of about what will be on frey for the World Cup.
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have been terrific as a pair in the ODIs since January this year. They have been scoring runs staggeringly well at the top and have been providing their team with solid starts. Therefore they are expected to open the innings in this tour as well.
Virat Kohli no doubt will be batting at No.3 but the question remains who will be there for them at No.4. With no KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant in the team, it’s likely that Sanju Samson will be given a longer rope. Suryakumar Yadav is expected to be slotted at No.5.
Hardik Pandya along with Ravindra Jadeja is expected to be the all-rounder in the team whereas Kuldeep Yadav is likely to support Jadeja in the spin department. Mohammed Siraj along with Umran Malik and Shardul Thakur are expected to be the three pacers.
