McLean park hosted its first T20I in 2017. Since then, a total of four T20I games have happened at this venue. While the team batting first has won two games, the chasing side has also won two matches. Hence, there is not much data to derive a pattern in this regard.
The average score batting first on this pitch is 182. It is a good venue for the batters and hence, the likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Glenn Phillips will be keen to put up a show. Matt Parkinson picked up a four-wicket haul in 2019 and that is still the best bowling display on this venue.

Compared to the other two venues, the temperature is likely to be a few degrees higher in Napier. However, the threat of rainfall will still be present.
Although the second T20I was predicted to be affected by rain, we got a full game. The fans will hope that it will repeat at Napier, too. Scattered thunderstorms are expected through the day but, as per the predictions, it is less likely during the night at the time when the game will happen.
