Meanwhile, in the latest development, the BCCI is set to build a modern stadium in Varanasi, which will cost INR 300 crore. After the completion of the project, it will be the state’s third international stadium after Green Park in Kanpur and Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

The efforts are currently underway to finish off the pending formalities associated with the project including the recruitment of the project management consultant and the company that would properly complete the entire project within the next 2 months.

As per several media outlets, the UP government has already released a fund of INR 120 crore for the acquisition of 31 acres of land from farmers. The officials in the know of developments echoed that the BCCI will build the stadium at the cost of Rs. 300 crores, as per TOI.
