“I hope BCCI choses the Venues wisely”, Twitter reacts as Border-Gavaskar Trophy from next cycle will be a five Test series

As per a recent confirmation by the BCCI, the Border Gavaskar Trophy from the next cycle will be a five-game affair. Till now, a four-match series was on the table. It would be a welcome move to make it a full-fledged series. On that note, here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as Border-Gavaskar Trophy from the next cycle will be a five-Test series.

Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be a 5-match series from the next cycle

India and Australia will next take on in the BGT in Feb-Mar this year. Like the previous editions, the upcoming series will also be a four-match tournament. However, from the next FTP cycle, it will be a series that will consist of five games.

It is a good move because India and Australia are two elite Test-playing nations at the moment. It hardly makes sense to not have a five-match series between them. The additional game will also change the dynamics of the way the series will transpire and the method in which the teams will plan for it.

Meanwhile, the preparations have started for the BGT this year. Both nations have announced the squads. For India, it could be a challenging competition because the likes of Jasprit Bumrah will not be available, at least, for the first two games. Australia has some fine players of spin and this will also be a challenge for the men in blue in this series.

Twitter reacts to the confirmation by BCCI

Although the news about this was out in the media around six months ago, there was no confirmation until now. However, a BCCI official talked about the same and even confirmed the move. Hence, there were a lot of reactions on social media. We take a look at a few of them in the below section:
