The second edition of the Men’s Hundred started on August 3rd. A 100-ball format, the Hundred was a welcome change amidst the plethora of T20 leagues across the globe. With the size of an innings reduced, obviously, the onus on big-hitting became more. In line with this, plenty of sixes were scored in the first edition. It will be no different in the ongoing campaign. On that note, here, we take a look at three players who might score the most sixes in the men’s Hundred 2022.
1) Liam Livingstone (Birmingham Phoenix)
Liam Livingstone smacked 27 sixes in the first edition of the men’s Hundred. This was close to double the number of sixes scored by the second cricketer on the list [Moeen Ali – 15 sixes]. In the recent IPL 2022, too, Livingstone was at his best in six-hitting. The Punjab Kings cricketer scored a total of 34 sixes.
Power-hitting is an important attribute for any T20 batter right now. Livingstone is one of the best examples and he will be expected to be in the same form. Most importantly, this time around, he would itching to get his team over the line to the championship win.
2) Moeen Ali (Birmingham Phoenix)
Moeen Ali is one of the players who might score the most sixes in the men’s Hundred 2022. The southpaw was brutal with his hitting in the first season. Equally good against the spinners and the pacers, Moeen would aim to improve on his record in the second edition.
Moeen managed to hit almost two sixes every game last year. He is a player who could take a few deliveries to get used to the wicket. If he can put himself in a comfortable situation every time he comes to bat, very few bowlers would be able to stop him.
3) Jos Buttler (Manchester Originals)
The start of 2022 was great for Jos Buttler. The English skipper was the highest run-getter in IPL 2022. He was also the highest six-scorer, with the right-hander getting 45 huge hits out of the boundary.
Buttler is currently in a brief barren run. However, it would just take one innings for him to return to form. If that happens, he could as well hit plenty of sixes. Just like in IPL 2022, he could also end up owning the record in the Hundred, too.
