“Home conditions” – Ravi Shastri gives a sharp reply to Matthew Hayden after he said there’s no way in the world that a spinner would come on the 6th over

Former Australian opening batsman Matthew Hayden launched a scathing attack on the pitch conditions for the ongoing Indore Test match between India and Australia at Holkar Cricket Stadium.

Earlier, Team India won the toss and chose to bat first. The hosts were literally taken aback by Australia’s sudden dominance in the spin attack. All nine batters fell prey to the Australian spinners on the first day’s play.

Matthew Kuhnemann was the pick of the bowlers for Australia as he inflicted the most damage on India’s batting line-up with his bowling spells. He bagged five wickets to his name on Day 1 whereas Nathan Lyon took 3 wickets.

Team India failed to crack the code and ended up getting skittled out for a paltry total of 109 runs, which is their fourth-lowest total in the last 15 years.

Ravi Shastri gives a sharp response to Matthew Hayden on-air

Matthew Hayden seems to be unimpressed with the pitch conditions as he openly stated that there is nowhere in the world would a spin bowler come to bowl the sixth over of a Test match on the first day.

Hayden’s remarks come after Rohit Sharma brought the spinners inside the six overs. Among the bowlers, Ravindra Jadeja bowled the most overs for India on Day 1.

In response to Matthew Hayden’s remark, Ravi Shastri came up with a two-word reply. He stated, “Home conditions”. His reply has gone viral on the internet.

Meanwhile, Team India have a lot of catching up to do to get back into the game. Australia are currently in the driver’s seat in the Indore Test as they have scored 156/4 in 54 overs.

Usman Khawaja provided stability on top of the order as he scored 60 runs including four boundaries. They have taken a lead of 47 runs before the first day’s play came to a close. Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers for India as he took four wickets to his name.
