India’s veteran off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin played incredibly well against Australia in the first Test match at VCA Stadium in Nagpur. The experienced campaigner took three wickets in the first innings.

However, he upped his game to the next level in the second innings as he took a five-wicket haul to his name. During the first Test, he scripted history as he became the fastest Indian bowler to take 450 wickets in Tests.

Ravi Ashwin extended his dominance in the second innings that helped Team India restrict Australia to 91 runs. As a result, India won the Nagpur Test by an innings and 132 runs and took the first lead in the series.

Ravi Ashwin will be looking forward to performing well once again for India in the second Test match against the Aussies. The second Test between Team India and Australia will begin on February 17 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Meanwhile, the experienced cricketer named two Indian stars who aren’t celebrated enough. Ravi Ashwin also went on to call one of the players the beast.

Writing in his column for ESPNCricinfo, Ravichandran Ashwin added that much like former Indian cricketer Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara isn’t celebrated enough by the fans of the cricket fraternity.

Ashwin stated that Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara used to do the most difficult job for India in Test cricket. Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara played out the new ball in testing conditions.

The duo enjoyed batting together in Tests as they added 2813 runs together at an average of 62.51. Ravi Ashwin reserved the highest respect for Murali Vijay by calling him the greatest opener for India outside of Sunil Gavaskar and Virender Sehwag.

Besides that, Ashwin called Pujara “the beast” because of his exceptional ability to focus on his batting. Pujara failed to bring the best out of himself in the first innings against Australia as he scored seven runs. He will be looking forward to adding more runs in the second Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on February 17.
