Here Is The Reason Why USA Cricket Team Qualified For 2024 T20 World Cup

The USA cricket team has made history by securing a qualification for the ICC T20 World Cup that will happen in 2024. The International Cricket Council initiated the T20 World Cup competition in the year 2007. Quite a few nations have been a part of this mega event so far, but none of the tournaments featured a team from America.

The wait is over for the fans living in the United States of America as the USA cricket team is one of the 20 teams that will take part in the mega event of 2024. ICC has increased the number of teams to 20 so that the spot can become global. Two of the 20 teams have been decided already.

The first two teams to make it to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 are the USA and West Indies. While the West Indies team has a great record in T20 World Cup history, the USA cricket team has never been a part of the tournament. Still, they received a direct entry.

Some fans are confused with this development, but the reason why these two teams have qualified for the big event is that they are the co-hosts of the mega event.

“For the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, automatic qualification of 12 teams was confirmed – the top eight teams from the 2022 T20WC in Australia alongside hosts West Indies and USA plus the next highest-ranked teams on the MRF ICC Men’s T20 rankings table as of 14 November 2022,” the ICC wrote in a press release.
