The entire kabaddi universe is buzzing with one question right now and that is why did Bengaluru Bulls not retain Pawan Sehrawat ahead of the Pro Kabaddi League Auction. Fans should note that VIVO Pro Kabaddi 9 Auction date is August 5 and 6. Ahead of the big event, all 12 teams have released their respective lists of ‘Elite Retained Players’.
Big names like Maninder Singh, Mahender Singh, Mohammadreza Chiyaneh, Arjun Deshwal and Sombir have been retained by their respective franchises for the Pro Kabaddi League’s ninth season. Pawan Sehrawat, who was the captain of the Bengaluru Bulls last year, did not find a place on the list of the players that the franchise decided to retain.

Pawan Sehrawat has been the number one raider in the Pro Kabaddi League for the last three to four seasons. He was the reason why the Bengaluru Bulls managed to win their maiden PKL championship in season six. Also, the entire raiding responsibilities of the Bengaluru Bulls are on the shoulders of Pawan since two seasons.
Still, the Bengaluru-based franchise have decided to let go of him. So here is the probable reason why Bengaluru may have released him.
Did Pawan Sehrawat not want a place of the list of players retained by Bengaluru Bulls?

Last year, fans were shocked when Patna Pirates released Pardeep Narwal. Later, the coach of the team disclosed that the raider himself asked for his release as he wanted to be a part of the auction.
There is a possibility here as well that Pawan Sehrawat would have asked Bengaluru Bulls team management to release him. Everyone knows that he can get the costliest contract of PKL, and if the Bengaluru Bulls want him back, they will have to either bid the highest or use an FBM card to get him back at the auction.
Otherwise, the Bengaluru Bulls may have released him to make a fresh start with some new players in the squad. This reason seems very unlikely, but one never knows what the PKL franchises are thinking.
