At the moment, MI has 10 points from nine matches. They have five games remaining. Out of this, if they can win three encounters, they would reach 16 points and considering the tight points table, this number should be enough for the team to reach the Top 4.
The NRR is currently -0.373. This is a concerning factor. Again, due to the tight table, NRR will surely come into the picture and MI is currently lagging behind. If they can cover this in one game, that would help them a lot.
The remainings for MI are against CSK (A), RCB (H), GT (H), LSG (A) and SRH (H). At home games, MI will desperately want to chase. In fact, considering their form, they might want to chase in all their five games left in IPL 2023.
MI has returned to form in style
MI did not reach playoffs in the last two seasons. Even at the start of this tournament, it looked hard for the team to do it, especially in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah. The first few losses hurt them but they are back in form, owing mainly due to the form of their batters.
The likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma have been in stunning form. In different games, Ishan Kishan, Tim David and Cameron Green have stepped up. If Rohit Sharma also starts to do well and if Jofra Archer can impact a game or two, the chances look bright for the five-time IPL winners this season.
