“Heard Simon Doull and Harsha sir speak about it every game” – Twitter reacts after Irfan Pathan points out David Warner’s poor strike rate in IPL 2023

David Warner seems to be really struggling to score runs at a rate of knots just like he used to do in the Indian Premier League. The experienced campaigner is operating as a captain for Delhi Capitals in regular skipper Rishabh Pant’s absence.

David Warner might be scoring runs for the team but at the expense of consuming too many deliveries. The left-handed batter scored just 56 off 48 balls in the team’s first game against Lucknow Super Giants where he maintained a strike rate of 116.67.

In the second game against Gujarat Titans, he scored 37 off 35 balls at a strike rate of 115.63. During the third game against Rajasthan Royals, David Warner scored 65 off 55 balls at a strike rate of 118.18.

Delhi Capitals‘ captain David Warner ended up scoring 51 off 47 balls before he fell prey to Jason Behrendorff’s bowling in the third ball of the 19th over of Delhi Capitals’ innings.

After David Warner’s departure, former Indian cricketer, Irfan Pathan took to his official Twitter handle and launched a scathing attack on David Warner for his poor batting strike rate.

“How come no one pointing out the strike rate of DC captain David Warner? Warner is been playing with a low strike for quite some time now,” Irfan Pathan tweeted.
