Ravichandran Ashwin to play vital time for India in Bangladesh Tests

Ravichandran Ashwin will next be seen in action when India will take on Bangladesh in the Test series. The two Test matches will be played in Chattogram on 14th December and Mirpur on 22nd December respectively. This will be the first time since 2015 India will tour Bangladesh.

The matches will be extremely important for India in the context of the World Test Championship and for them to fancy winning, they would want Ashwin to step up. The off-spinner is arguably one of the best spinners India has ever produced. Over the years the ace off-spinner has been the mainstay of the Indian bowling line-up in the longest format of the game and is also the second-fastest bowler in Tests to breach the 400-wicket milestone.

Ashwin recently surpassed Harbhajan Singh and Kapil Dev to become the second-highest wicket-taker for India in Tests with 442 wickets, just behind Anil Kumble (619). With pitches being spin-friendly, the veteran spinner will likely step up and play a crucial role for India in Tests.
