Dinesh Karthik could not do well against RR in the important game for RCB. While he defended the first ball against Adam Zampa, he was struck LBW in the next ball. Although the umpire did not think it was out, Sanju Samson reviewed it and DK was given out.
It has been a poor season for DK this year. There were a lot of expectations because of the way he batted last season. However, barring a few games, it has been not great for the Tamil Nadu man this season. Also, his game against spin has not improved and he is unable to smash them like the way he used to when he started out. His wicket-keeping, too, has had its issues and considering these factors and his age, it won’t be a surprise if RCB actually releases him at the end of this season.
The fact that teams have had to play a lot on different pitches seems to have also troubled him. Last season, he played mostly on pitches that suited his style. However, this year, there has been different pitches and DK has struggled to get used to it because of the limitations in his batting right now.
