The excitement for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is building up. The IPL 16th will take begin from 31st March with the final set to take place on 28th May. The teams have started to prepare themselves and are leaving no stone unturned in the build-up to the tournament.
Players have joined the teams and are putting in hard yards to prepare themselves for the tournament, which will be played across 12 venues in Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati and Dharamsala.
But in the latest development as per the reports in ESPNCricinfo, it is learned that South African ODI players in Aiden Markram, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, David Miller and others will join IPL teams on 3rd April due to International duties.
South African players missing the first few games will be blow for some teams as they have been the mainstay of the franchises in both battings as well as bowling.
The tournament opener will be played between Gujarat Titans and four-time title winners Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium and it’ll be a major blow for the defending champions as they will have to play without their main player of last season in David Miller.
