Aditi Hundia reacts as Ishan Kishan smacks the ball out of the stadium

Ishan Kishan was at the top of his game last night as he scored a swashbuckling half-century opening the batting for Mumbai Indians against the arch rivals Chennai Super Kings in a vital IPL encounter at Sharjah Cricket Ground.

Batting first, CSK posted a modest total on the board which was well within the reach of Mumbai, but the reigning champions still needed a good start to make sure CSK didn’t get any sniff.

Ishan Kishan, who was opening the batting for Mumbai for the first time in IPL 2020 in Rohit Sharma’s absence, looked in a wonderful touch right from the word go and middled absolutely everything which came his way.

Although Sharjah is a very small ground and the dimensions are shorter than 70 meters, most of the sixes that Ishan hit went way back into the stands and one of them actually went outside the stadium.

Apart from all the other Mumbai Indians fans who must have thoroughly enjoyed Ishan’s batting, his rumoured girlfriend Aditi Hundia seemed to enjoy his batting a lot as well, as she put an Instagram story with a picture of Ishan when he completed his half-century.

It was Ishan’s second half-century in IPL 2020. He had scored his first one against RCB, but Mumbai wasn’t able to win that game despite Ishan’s efforts which must have left the left-hander really disappointed. However, this time around, he took his team home staying unbeaten at the crease with his opening partner Quinton de Kock.

Mumbai Indians, with the 10-wicket victory, got one step closer to the playoffs, while the defeat meant CSK got eliminated from the tournament.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
