1) Some more experience in the batting line-up
Punjab Kings usually played with an inexperienced batting line-up and did well. Glenn Maxwell had to fire to lend the experience. However, that did not happen. Nevertheless, the squad can target someone with experience to add meat to the line-up.
2) Backup pacers is one area Punjab Kings can improve for IPL 2026
In the end, PBKS had to depend on the likes of Kyle Jamieson, who is not rated in the T20 format. Of course, Punjab Kings had injury and availability issues. That said, the franchise can target someone who can add more stability in this department for the next campaign. Having some more depth here could give more options to the side.
3) Mystery element in the spin department
Sometimes, this could be the cutting edge for a side. PBKS might have to invest more in the spin department. If someone like Varun CV is in the squad, with Chahal also around, the middle overs will be in better control for the squad.
