CSK’s struggles continue in IPL 2022
Despite being the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings is yet to win a game in the competition. Up against Sunrisers Hyderabad, CSK was expected to put a strong performance. Yes, the game is not yet over but based on the first innings display, many CSK fans were disappointed with what they saw.
Batting first, CSK lost both the openers within the powerplay. While Robin Uthappa fell first, it was yet another failure for Ruturaj Gaikwad as he was clean bowled by T Natarajan. The likes of Moeen Ali and Ambati Rayudu did steady the ship but the strike rate of the partnership was not great. In fact, Rayudu fell for 27 runs and he took 27 deliveries to make them. Ravindra Jadeja had a decent outing as he scored 23 runs from 15 balls. Both Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni could not disturb the scorers much. Eventually, CSK ended at 154, a score that looks underwhelming going by the recent trend.

The fans were extremely disappointed with yet another poor show with the bat. CSK were up against a team that was low on confidence. Since there was the experience in their armoury, they could have done better. However, like it was in the previous games, CSK lost control over the game.
