When it comes to the pull shot, almost no one comes close to Rohit Sharma in world cricket at the moment. In the ongoing T20I game against West Indies, Rohit’s prowess with the pull shot was yet again on display. Incidentally, Harsha Bhogle was commentating and he pulled off a superb line to describe Rohit Sharma and his skill to hit a pull shot. In this article, we take a look at the epic line coined by commentator Harsha Bhogle for Indian captain Rohit Sharma.
Bhogle coins an epic line for Indian captain Rohit Sharma
It was the last ball of the fourth over in India’s chase of a score of 158. Rohit Sharma was on strike and it was Odean Smith who had the ball in hand. The West Indian had already gone for a few runs and hence, his morale was down. It further went low when a climbing delivery met the bat of Rohit Sharma. The Indian skipper executed a pull shot and sent the ball for a flat six over the mid-wicket region.
In the com-box, Harsha Bhogle described the incident with the epic line of “Don’t bowl short to a man who was born to pull.” Considering Rohit’s liking for the shot, the line coined by Harsha was a perfect fit.
India start well against West Indies
Meanwhile, Team India has started well against West Indies in the first T20I at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ravi Bishnoi made his debut for Team India and the young leggie left an impression instantly. He collected two wickets and gave away just 17 runs in his four overs. West Indies were restricted to 157 runs in the first innings.
The Indian openers started brilliantly, moving the scoreboard at a rapid pace. It was good to see the Indians ace the opening partnership and bowling during middle-overs, two issues which they have to address soon.
