Deepak Hooda is a name that is widely known in the cricketing circuit. Recently, on Monday, he featured for the Punjab Kings and smashed a handsome 50 in just 20 balls. He delivered an extravagant potent against the Rajasthan Royals and went up to make a well knocked 64 runs in 28 deliveries.
Deepak Hooda had a bitter taste of rejection by the Baroda Cricket board. He was suspended after the vice-captain walked out off the field for “misbehaviour” by Krunal Pandya, the captain. For that allegation, Deepak was barged from playing the domestic season for Baroda.
However, he backed himself up pretty good with a smashing hit from last night. Hooda became the second fastest uncapped Indian batsmen to score a fifty. As in speculation, he scored an impressive knock of 50 in just 20 deliveries.
Deepak played his last competitive game back in October 2020. After that, he did not gain an opportunity to play the sport since he was suspended. In relation to his suspension by the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA), Hooda mailed them. In his mail, he made a bunch of allegations against Krunal Pandya.
What did Hooda write on his suspension by BCA?
“At this moment, I am demoralised, depressed and under pressure. As from last some days and at least from the last couple of days, my team captain Mr Kurnal Pandiya is using abusive language to me in front of my teammates and also other states teams who have come for participation at Reliance stadium Vadodara.” Hooda wrote.
Irfan Pathan’s view on the suspension
After Deepak Hooda’s suspension, the former national player, Irfan Pathan put forth his thoughts. Irfan, who played for 17 years for Baroda, wrote: “During the difficult times of this pandemic wherein mental health of a player is of utmost importance as they have to stay in a bio-bubble as well as keep themselves focused on the game.”
The 36-year-old stalwart cricketer made his disappointment clear through a social media post. He further reiterated the significance of activism and harmony in the sport. According to him, it helps a player to boost up his confidence, passion as well as respect for it.
Hooda’s dazzling and fast 50 came in as a response to many of his trolls. He cracked the best answer in the best way possible, which is through his bat and not words.
