The former SRH captain David Warner has revealed that he was not even explained why he was removed as SRH captain in the first leg of IPL 2021. Warner was replaced by Kane Williamson as the captain of SRH after the Aussie opener struggled in a few innings with the bat.
The idea behind removing Warner was the fact that the team management thought Warner was not justifying his place in the team as a player anymore. Just as Warner was removed as a captain, he was dropped from the playing XI as well, as Mohammad Nabi replaced him in the XI in the game against Rajasthan Royals in the first leg.
David Warner opened up to the Indian journalist Boria Majumdar in an interview
David Warner has been interviewed by the Indian journalist Boria Majumdar for his sports talk show called Sports Today. While the full interview will be out later today, Boria shared a clip of it on his Twitter profile. Boria’s question to Warner w as what actually transpired in the SRH set up which led to his removal as SRH captain.
Warner answered that he was not even explained what was the reason. According to Warner, if you talk about form, then it’s a tricky thing. A player’s form might not be good, but if he has done a significant amount of work for the team with the bat in the past, then one would think that the past performances would have some weight going forward.
As mentioned @davidwarner31 candid and straight from the heart. 5pm @SportsTodayofc I have got messages from a huge number of Hyderabad fans about this. All of you do watch! pic.twitter.com/XgtCDU09DV

When IPL resumed for the second leg in the UAE, Warner was actually given his opportunity again. But, the team management was quick to replace Warner with Jason Roy just as the southpaw failed in a couple of games. They might also have made that change very, very quickly because the team was losing games and they probably needed an in-form batsman to open the batting.
