Rishabh Pant has continued his fine form against the England cricket team in Test matches by registering another century. The left-handed batter completed his second century on English soil earlier today during the first day of the final match of the ICC World Test Championship series between the Indian cricket team and the England cricket team.
Talking about the match between the Indian cricket team and the England cricket team, new England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and decided to bowl first at Edgbaston. Here’s what Stokes had to say during the brief interview at the toss:
“We’re going to have a bowl. We’ve done pretty well chasing but the toss was pretty much dictated overhead. The wicket looks pretty good. Hoping to put them under a bit of pressure. Obviously coming into a new series quickly after a good performance against New Zealand but it’s a great opportunity to keep the momentum going.”
James Anderson provided a good start to England by dismissing both Indian openers. Virat Kohli, Hanuma Vihari, and Shreyas Iyer returned to the dressing room soon as the Indian cricket team slumped to 98/5.
Rishabh Pant then joined hands with Ravindra Jadeja to rescue the visitors. The two left-handed batters have added 161 runs for the sixth wicket thus far. The Indian cricket team is at 259/5 after 59 overs on Day 1.
Pant has entertained the fans at Edgbaston with his fantastic batting performance. The left-handed wicket-keeper batter has smashed 16 fours and a six in his 95-ball 108*. He has enjoyed batting against the England cricket team’s left-arm spin bowler Jack Leach at Edgbaston.
Ravindra Jadeja has backed him up to perfection with a 112-ball 53. If the two Indian batters continue to bat the way they have so far, India could post a massive total on the board.
