It was shocking to see David Warner being axed from the side of Sunrisers Hyderabad side today that took on Rajasthan Royals in a face-saving affair.

Warner is one of the most prolific openers of the tournament, bagging the Orange Cap a staggering three times. He is a relentless scorer and was also one of the most aggressive batters of the tournament.

The exact scenario that surrounding Warner’s axe

Sadly, for the erstwhile captain, recent times have been very hard to find his footing and one of the most dominant batters of the fray has failed to find his stride.

The first two games after the resumption of the tournament witnessed Warner getting removed for a duck and a 2 which is extremely uncharacteristic of the Aussie opener.

The franchise is sitting uncomfortably in the rock-bottom of the table with just one wins so far and has set a new record of piling up lows for themselves in the ongoing edition of the fray.

They had to take a few hard decisions and sadly, the man who carried them almost single-handedly for such a long time, was at the receiving end of one.

This is what Harsha had to say about Warner

Harsha Bhogle summed it up in a very emotional way about the axing of Warner and why was it painful to see the former captain warming the bench.

He quoted, “There are some overseas player-franchise associations for the ages. Like Pollard and Malinga with #MI, AB with #RCB. Maybe Bravo with #CSK. Warner and #SRH will always be up there. A bit painful to see that unraveling.”

The man who filled in the boots of Warner pulled off a phenomenal job as Jason Roy hammered a 42 ball 60 to propel Hyderabad to a blinder. However, the major challenge for SRH has been their slim middle-order with incessant woeful displays.
