3 players whom Sunrisers Hyderabad might shockingly release before next season

Before IPL 2023 started, many expected SRH to have a good season because of their squad. However, through the season, they were disappointing. One of the main reasons is the poor form of a few players and the selection calls made by the management. SRH has been guilty of releasing some top names in the recent past. It won’t be a surprise if that happens after IPL 2023, as well. Here, we take a look at three players whom Sunrisers Hyderabad might shockingly release before next season.

1) Umran Malik

Umran Malik, surprisingly, hardly played in IPL 2023. This is despite him being an X-Factor and also the most recent India player in the squad.

Based on Aiden Markram’s comments, it appears that there could be more than one reason for his axing. Hence, it won’t be a surprise if he gets released.

2) Kartik Tyagi

Kartik Tyagi is one of the players whom Sunrisers Hyderabad might shockingly release before next season. Injuries have been constant in Kartik’s career, so far. Hence, he could get a game only late in the season because of this. It was the same last year too.

Even when he came back, Tyagi was not brilliant. Therefore, SRH could decide to release him and invest in a different pacer in the future seasons. However, Tyagi is a talented cricketer and hopefully, SRH has more patience with him.

3) Marco Jansen

Marco Jansen has not got a lot of games for SRH. This could be due to the team combination but he is the best bet alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the powerplay.

Also, with the bat, Jansen has not fired although he has got a few chances. He is currently on a salary of INR 4.2 Cr and SRH could just explore releasing him before the next auctions. It will also depend on Jansen’s form in the next few months.
