After rainfall troubled the competition in St Kitts, the Caribbean Premier League action would now shift to St Lucia. From September 7th to September 11th, all games would happen at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium. Here, we take a look at the weather conditions in St Lucia and the pitch report of Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium.
West Indies is not in great form at the moment. The team is consistently losing tournaments. They also had a forgettable 2021 T20 World Cup. Since then, some of the seniors have also retired. Hence, the ongoing CPL will be important for the men from the Caribbean Islands. If the key players can get some form, they will be in a good headspace for the mega-event. Players such as Nicholas Pooran, Jason Holder and Shimron Hetmyer will be keen for West Indies’ chances.

St Lucia is a frequent host of T20I encounters. So far, the stadium has hosted a total of 18 T20I games. Hence, we have a sizeable sample of matches to derive a pattern of pitch behaviour.
Interestingly, in these 18 matches, teams chasing and batting first have won an equal number of matches. While Suresh Raina’s century in 2010 is the highest individual score on this pitch, Devendra Bishoo’s 4/17 in 2011 is the best bowling performance at this venue.

The first phase of CPL was troubled by rain. A few games were impacted heavily by the outpour. As per the predictions, even St Lucia is likely to have the same issue. In September, a total of 19 days of rainfall are expected.
The average temperature will be around 28 Degrees Celsius. This can go up to 31 Degrees Celsius during the day. These temperatures will be conducive to the game.
