“Beast Uthappa Has Landed”- Twitter Reacts As Robin Plays His Career-Best IPL Knock For CSK

The 22nd match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is currently underway at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where the Chennai Super Kings are taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the first time this season. CSK and RCB are two of the most popular teams in the tournament’s history. Many fans thought RCB would dominate tonight, but the duo of Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube had other plans.

Opening the innings for the Chennai Super Kings, Uthappa played the best knock of his IPL career, scoring 88 runs off just 50 balls. He smacked four fours and nine sixes in his entertaining innings. His strike rate was 176, and he had a magnificent 165-run third-wicket partnership with left-handed batter Shivam Dube.

Shivam scored 95 runs in the first innings of the match. The Chennai Super Kings star had an opportunity to register his maiden IPL hundred, but he fell short by five runs. He had one ball and needed six runs. Dube went for a big shot, but the ball did not cross the boundary. He got only one run as Faf du Plessis dropped the catch.

Talking with the host broadcasters after the first innings, Dube said:

“Just keeping it simple. Nothing special. Just watching the ball. I’m used to this ground, so I was just trying to be disciplined in my batting. (On what MSD said to him before the final ball) Just keep calm and keep watching the ball. Nothing else. (On dew) It’s still pretty dry today. That’s good for us.”
