In what has been the latest development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday (7th January) named the national selection committee of the Indian team. The governing body retained Chetan Sharma as the chairman of the selectors.
Whereas Shiv Sunder Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola, and Sridharan Sharath are also part of the community. A total of 600 applicants applied for the posts out of which 5 were selected.
The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) which we’re headed by Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjape and Sulakshana Naik shortlisted the candidates following which the interview was conducted.
Releasing the official statement, BCCI said, “CAC shortlisted 11 individuals for personal interviews. Based on the interviews, the Committee has recommended the following candidates for the Senior Men’s National Selection Committee.
1) Chetan Sharma
2) Shiv Sundar Das
3) Subroto Banerjee
4) Salil Ankola
5) Sridharan Sharath
The committee further recommended Mr Chetan Sharma for the role of Chairman of the senior men’s selection committee.”
