BBL 2022/23: Docklands Stadium, Melbourne Pitch Report And Weather Conditions

In 2018, Melbourne Renegades won the Big Bash League. Since then, they have not been able to come close to the trophy. The team will look to do well this time around. They would play their home games at the Docklands Stadium, which is also known as the Marvel Stadium. Here, we look at the pitch report of Docklands Stadium and the weather conditions in Melbourne for BBL 2022/23.

Much of it could come down to the batting unit of the Renegades. While Nic Maddinson appears to be in good form, the team would want players such as Aaron Finch, Martin Guptill and Shaun Marsh to fire. All these players need to come back to form and it will be interesting to see how they go about it. Renegades would also want to add some young blood to the mix to complement the unit.

Akeal Hosein, Kane Richardson and Mujeeb Ur Rahman are some of the bowlers in this squad. Andre Russell will be available for a limited time while the likes of Will Sutherland will want to leave an impact. If the team can stick together, they can do well this season.

Docklands Stadium, Melbourne pitch report for BBL 2022/23

The Docklands Stadium or the Marvel Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Melbourne. The venue has a drop-in pitch and hence, the conditions can be consistent.

So far, no T20Is have happened here. However, between 2000 and 2006, a lot of ODI games happened at this venue. In most cases, it was the side batting first that won the game. It needs to be seen how the pitch would behave this season.

Melbourne weather conditions for BBL 2022/23

The temperatures will range between 24 and 10 degrees Celsius in December, although the higher limit can increase in the last week of the year. There is also a possibility of rain in the final two weeks of 2022.

In January, as well, the temperatures will more or less remain the same. Almost every week, there is at least one day of rainfall predicted. The fans will hope for a different outcome, though.
