Mohammed Siraj was India's best bowler in the ODIs last year.

Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has picked his bowling combination for the ODI World Cup 2023. The cricket-turned-commentator has left out Mohammed Siraj and has given nod ahead to R Ashwin in his team.

Aakash Chopra leaves out Mohammed Siraj from his bowling combination for the ODI World Cup 2023

The road to Cricket World Cup 2023 for the Indian Cricket Team is about to get begin. The ICC tournament is slated to take place in India in October and November. They will play more than 25 ODIs and it’s fair to say that it’ll be the best possible chance for them to prepare.

After facing heartbreaks, they have one more chance to put their hands on the ICC trophy as Cricket World 2023 is just around the corner. The event will take place in India in October and November and with home conditions on offer, the Men in Blue will be clear favourites to win the event.

BCCI recently revealed that they have shortlisted 20 players and they will be rotated in the games ahead of the World Cup to prepare them for the event. It’ll also be a great opportunity for the team to give clarity to players and assign them specific roles.

With management shortlisting just 20 players, Ajay Jadeja has picked his bowling combination. The former cricketer has left out Mohammed Siraj, who was India’s best bowler in the ODIs in 2022. He named Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami and Arshdeep Singh as three frontline pacers. Speaking on Cricbuzz, he said:

“Jasprit Bumrah, you got to pick, for sure. I am going with just for the current form, I would go with Shami, there’s no way I can leave him out. I would go with Arshdeep Singh. He may not have had a good last couple of games, but that’s the future. He’s the only left-arm you’re looking at, brilliant with the new ball. It’s unfortunate that he’s so good with the old ball that the Indian team started using him with the old ball and not with the new one.”

Ajay Jadeja also picks R Ashwin in his team

Ajay Jadeja also picked R Ashwin in his team along with Umran Malik and Yuzvendra Chahal. He added:

“I would play Ashwin in India in that World Cup because spin will be (important). Chahal, you don’t need to play now, you need to play him in the World Cup. These are ready whether you want them or not. So, I would go with him and Umran Malik. Then I’ll pick Chahal there.”

The Indian team will be next seen in action when they will lock horns with Sri Lanka in the first ODI on Tuesday (10th January) in Guwahati.
