Welcome to the AEW Rampage Spoilers September 9 edition. The Grand Slam Tournament of Champions Rampage Wild Card of Darby Allin vs Sammy Guevara (with Tay Melo) in the first round of the eliminator tournament opens this week’s AEW Rampage episode.
Allin isn’t accompanied to the ring by Sting. The match starts and progresses and at a point, Guevara hits a low blow on Allin when the referee is distracted by Anna Jay. Guevara then takes advantage by hitting a powerbomb on Allin on top of his own skateboard and follows it up with his modified GTS finisher for the win. Tay pushes the skateboard towards him, which he rides down the ramp. He now faces Jon Moxley in the second semifinal of the tournament next week.

Next segment is Samoa Joe’s promo. He introduces himself to the AEW fans and says that he is going to be much more violent now. Mark Sterling, Tony Nese and Josh Woods interrupt the ROH World Television Champ, Joe. Woods had saved Sterling’s life on Dynamite and wants himself to be the TV champ. Joe agrees to the match but Sterling says they will fight in Albany next week.
Then it’s Miro, who cuts a promo on screen, saying God is a fraud whose gold hangs around the waist of other men. He says he should have been included in the eliminator tournament for the World title. In the next women’s match, Serena Deeb submits Madison Rayne via a half crab.
Then Jade Cargill cuts an in-ring promo saying she did just what she said at All Out. And that was retaining her TBS Championship against Athena. Next, it’s time for Powerhouse Hobbs’ promo who says The Factory couldn’t get the job done, therefore he put Ricky Starks six feet in the dirt. He is the ‘Monster’ Powerhouse Hobbs.
* Next, it’s William Regal who promotes the ROH World Championship bout between Claudio Castagnoli and Dax Harwood. Regal says he recruited Harwood and knows exactly how good he is, but he isn’t on Claudio’s level. Dax says he knows the odds are against him and says something about feeding his family. Tonight, he’ll be the ROH World Champion. Top Guy out, he says.
