India boasts of one of the finest squads in T20 cricket that will see the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami coming together under the mentorship of MS Dhoni.

Similarly, England will be arriving at the UAE with quite an illustrious squad as they will be bringing along the likes of Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Dawid Malan, Jason Roy and Chris Woakes. Despite the absence of Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer, the team still has enough firepower in them to bring down other stalwarts of the game.

A quick look at India’s arch-rivals

India’s arch-rivals against whom India will begin their T20 World Cup journey is also one of the contenders to make it to the semis of the fray according to Aakash Chopra. Under the leadership of Babar Azam, Pakistan will be sporting an exciting outfit to challenge the world. They will also have a lot of experience in Mohammad Hafeez and will also rely on the flair of Shaheen Afridi to challenge for the throne.

The final name on Chopra’s list is the likeliest title contenders, as West Indies brings to the tournament the best bunch of T20 players. They will be playing under the leadership of Kieron Pollard and will be bragging about big names of the format like Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis.

These four teams mentioned by Akash Chopra are no doubt the favourites, but it was quite audacious for him to write off Australia completely. Only time will tell that how precise his prediction was when the tournament unfolds in a month’s time.
