“A Record-Breaking Afternoon”, Twitter Stunned At Liverpool’s Superb Display Against Bournemouth

It was an electric display from Liverpool as they registered their maiden win of the latest Premier League season, running amok against a clueless Bournemouth whose journey went from bad to worse after three games into the league. Not only was it the first victory for the Reds in the ongoing season, but they also paralleled their own record of scoring 9 goals in a contest with the last one coming in 1989 when they humiliated Crystal Palace.

It just took 3 minutes for the Reds to fire as Luis Diaz found the back of the net, thanks to an exquisite pirouette that left two of the Bournemouth defenders reeling in an invisible knot of their feet from Roberto Firmino who put the perfect weight behind the ball for the former to slam home.

Liverpool seemed to be in unstoppable form against Bournemouth

All it took for Liverpool to double their cushion was three more minutes as Roberto Firmino flicked in a clever heel for Harvey Eliott who powered a clinically precise pile-driver from range into the bottom-left corner of the net.

After a brief respite for Bournemouth where they didnā€™t see the ball rolling into the net, it was Trent Alexander-Arnold who blasted an absolute thunderbolt from a range of 20 yards away that trembled the nets with the sheer audacity and beauty carved by the full-back. Roberto Firmino finally received the reward for his extraordinary display as a wild deflection off Salahā€™s cross fell for the Brazilian and the latter made no mistake in poking home from close range.

The towering Dutchman, Virgil Van Dijk who was heavily criticized for his role against Manchester United, headed home the fifth of the night as he met Robertsonā€™s corner with substantial force, leaving Bournemouth in sheer agony.

There was very little that Bournemouth could come up with in the second half either as Chris Mepham rolled the ball into his own net after a marauding curler from Alexander Arnold in pursuit of his own man.

Liverpool found their seventh of the night after a couple of decent saves from Taveras as the third ball fell again for the Brazilian with Firmino keeping his calm to bag his second goal of the night. It took the Reds a while to get their eighth but it did come in stunning fashion and this time Fabio Carvalho found himself on the scoresheet with a searing pass from Tsimikas.

Luis Diaz bagged the final goal of the night as he turned Tsimikasā€™ second cross of the night into the back of the net, making a statement to savour for the runners-up of the preceding edition. Twitter was absolutely wild about this ecstatic display from Liverpool and there was no shortage of juice whatsoever.
