Texas Super Kings is the sister franchise of Chennai Super Kings. As usual, the management tries to find a common area with some players representing both franchises. The performances in either of the leagues will help the management to bring the player to the other league. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Texas Super Kings players whom CSK must target for IPL 2025.
1) Marcus Stoinis
Depending on how it goes, LSG might retain or release Marcus Stoinis. While it is tempting to retain him, considering the Aussie’s age, LSG might eventually release the cricketer.
That said, Stoinis is in the form of his life. He also did well at Chepauk in IPL 2024. Usually, CSK is a franchise where such players thrive, especially at the later stages of their careers. Also, Stoinis can also be used as an opener if required. He would surely be in the mix for the next couple of seasons. Hence, CSK can target him.
2) Naveen-ul-Haq
Naveen-ul-Haq is one of the Texas Super Kings players whom CSK must target for IPL 2025. He is actually an under-rated cricketer in the T20 format.
Naveen is someone with a lot of variations. He would do well with his cutters and slower balls. Hence, he would be a good fit at CSK because they play at Chepauk, which could be very conducive for the Afghan pacer.
3) Gerald Coetzee
It was a surprise that CSK did not attempt to sign the South African speedster at IPL 2024 Auctions. Since he was doing well for JSK in SA20 League, many thought CSK would sign the player. However, he ended up at Mumbai Indians.
That said, MI is likely to release him and CSK can target the player for the long-term. If Coetzee further develops as an all-rounder, it becomes further easy for CSK.
