WWE NXT has become one of the most-viewed pro wrestling shows in the year 2024. One of the biggest reasons why NXT consistently attracts more than 700,000 viewers every Tuesday night is that some established names wrestle on the brand now.
In the past, NXT only aired on the WWE network. Although the storylines and wrestling quality were much better at that time, the main-stream attention that certain Superstars bring to the product and the wider reach of USA network has benefited WWE NXT in 2024.
Some top names like Shawn Spears, Baron Corbin, Mandy Rose, Becky Lynch, The Good Brothers, Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley have appeared on NXT in the recent past. The best thing about NXT is it gives the Superstars a chance to improve their skills and iron out their weaknesses. The crowd is smaller, plus the expectations aren’t too high when wrestling on NXT.
The following two main roster stars deserve a break as well so that they can improve their skills in NXT.
1. Maxxine Dupri can benefit a lot from WWE NXT exposure in 2024
Maxxine Dupri has received a lot of criticism from the WWE fans for her wrestling performances of late. Even WWE management has noticed it, and they have booked her in a storyline surrounding the flake that she has been receiving from the crowd as well.
Dupri has joined the Alpha Academy, which makes regular appearances on NXT. Perhaps, WWE can book Dupri to wrestle more singles matches on the show.
2. Nikki Cross
Nikki Cross has been directionless for so long in WWE. The main roster writers sow the seeds for a long-term storyline for Nikki, but the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion has always gotten lost in the mix. Cross should go back to NXT, build a new character and return to the main roster better than ever.
