Jos Buttler to captain as ESPNCricinfo names their T20I team of the year
ESPNCricinfo has named their T20I XI of the year 2022. Jos Buttler will lead the side and will open the innings alongside his English teammate Alex Hales. The duo were in staggering form this year and have 1570 and 1801 runs to their name respectively with over 150 strike rates.
South African batter Rillie Rossouw is slated to bat at No.3. He was one of the main reasons behind Proteas’ success this year and has scored 1410 runs at a strike rate of 172.3 this year. Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav, who was arguably the best batter in T20I this year, will bat at No.4. He has an overall of 1503 runs at a strike rate of 175.9.
David Miller is another Proteas in the team as he will bat at No.5 in ESPN’s T20I team of the year with Hardik Pandya set to play a crucial role with both bat and ball at No.6.
Sam Curran along with Wanindu Hasranga will be the other two all-rounders in the team. Rashid Khan will be be leg spinner in the team with Haris Rauf and Josh Little being the two frontline pacers in the side.
