New Zealand and India are currently locking horns in the three-match ODI series. The Kane Williamson-led side pounded the visitors by a big margin and took a 1-0 lead in the series. With two games remaining, it’ll be an opportunity for the young Indian side to showcase their talent and prove their prowess to the world.
India’s predicted XI for the second ODI
The second ODI between New Zealand and take place on Sunday (27th November) in Hamilton. The visitors after a massive defeat in the first game would want to make a comeback and level the series. With the kind of talent they have in the mix, they will likely emerge victorious.
Talking about the Indian predicted XI for the second game, it is likely that Shikhar Dhawan along with Shubman Gill will continue batting at the top for the team. Both of them did a staggering job in the first game, scoring 124 runs for the opening partnership and getting to their half-centuries.
Shreyas Iyer is batting like a dream in ODIs and therefore it is a brainer that he will bat at No.3. He scored crucial 80 runs in the first game and it is expected that he will add to his tally more. Rishabh Pant is likely to bat at No.4. Although he isn’t in good nick the team is likely to continue with him.
Deepak Hooda is likely to replace Suryakumar Yadav in the team as India lacked 6th bowling option in the first game, which was the main reason behind their loss. Therefore Hooda is likely to get a nod ahead in the team. Sanju Samson will retain his place and bat at No.6. He played a crucial knock of 36 runs in the first ODI.
Washington Sundar, who did a terrific job with both bat as well as ball in the first game will be slated at No.7 and is likely to handle the spin bowling duties with Kuldeep Yadav, who can replace Yuzvendra Chahal in the second game.
Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik, who made their debut in the first game, are likely to retain their place in the side whereas Deepak Chahar is expected to replace Shardul Thakur.
