“Just how fast the night changes”, Twitter breathes a sigh of relief as India clinches win in a nail-biting thriller

In a cracker of a contest at the Adelaide, Team India emerged as the winners, part thanks to the Rain Gods who at one point in time, threatened to take away the game from the Indians and then eventually completely reshaped the momentum secured by the Men in Blue and part thanks to an excellent bowling display post the break.

Bangladesh won the toss and asked India to bat first. Despite losing Rohit Sharma early, KL Rahul finally managed to hit his stride, as he carved some niche strokes while Virat Kohli got a bit fortunate early but was soon back to business in the most commanding of tones, dealing some crucial blows to the Bangladeshi bowlers.

Despite the fall of Rahul for a well-constructed half-century, Virat and Surya carried on with the onslaught, challenging the bowlers to a fierce duel. Surya got a fine start but failed to continue with the momentum as India suddenly stared at a shift in momentum with wickets falling in a flurry.

In the end, it was Virat and Ashwin who powered India to a late rampage as the runs kept on piling up, with India posting a target of 185 for Bangladesh to chase. The Men in Red and Green were off to a fiery start as Litton Das led the battery for them.

Here is what Twitter had to say about India vs Bangladesh

Until the rain Gods intervened, things seemed pretty slick for Bangladesh as the runs kept on flowing at a regular interval. But once the game resumed, the Indian fielders and bowlers were straight off the block to challenge the newfound momentum of their counterparts and started claiming a string of early wickets with bare minimum resistance.

From 68 for none, they went to 108 for 6, with the Indian bowlers swarming over them. Despite a late plunge, Arshdeep produced a ripper of a final over to thwart Bangladesh from getting the required runs. Twitter breathed a sigh of relief as India bagged a win at the end of so many doldrums.
