WWE Extreme Rules 2022 Match Card: Full List Of Rules Of An ‘Good old Fashioned Donnybrook ’ Match

The most extreme night in the history of the WWE is reaching its destination in three days as the global juggernaut is set to present WWE Extreme Rules, taking place on October 8. This edition of the pay-per-view will see Extreme Rules taking place in the month of October for the first time in the show’s history and take place on Saturday instead of WWE’s pay-per-view day followed over the years, Sunday for a long time. Like the previous shows, there is a stacked WWE Extreme Rules 2022 match card.

The match card for this year’s edition of the one night of the year where everything goes extreme has six matches scheduled with each one of them taking place under a physically dangerous stipulation. Even the multi-man for the event is also penciled in to be contested under a brutal setting.

As announced, the hard-hitting team of Sheamus, Butch, and Ridge Holland collectively known as The Brawling Brutes are set to battle the rival faction, The Imperium consisting of Giovanni Vinci, Ludwig Kaisar, and their leader, the reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther.

The magnitude of the match itself is big considering four of the upcoming talents and the two dominant leaders of the opposite sides but adding a stipulation with no rules and regulations left to stop the carnage could lead to a must-watch exciting match on the card. The Brawling Brutes are set to battle The Imperium in a Six-man tag team Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match billed as the first ever encounter to happen under the match title.

So, before we get set to watch these titans going head-to-head in this tag team showdown with rules meant to be broken, let’s take a deep look at what exactly is a Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match with all the rules for the match.

A Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match usually comes under the category of a Boot Camp match, Raven‘s Rules match, an Anything Goes match or an Extreme Rules match, where the wrestlers competing cannot be disqualified, usage of weapons is completely legal, and outside interference can be caused by multiple superstars for anyone they wish to assist. However, the ending of the match has to come inside the ring, unlike traditional hardcore matches.

The basic rules for the match include crowning a decisive winner by pinfall or submission inside the ring with no disqualifications and count-outs.

In the above case where the match is a 6-man tag team match where there are multiple superstars competing, there will be no need to tag each other to enter the fray, and all six competitors can compete against each other at the same time and are vulnerable to having a fall scored against them anytime, usually coming under tornado tag team rules, more commonly known as a Texas Tornado match being the brainchild of promoter Morris Sigel.

With a mix of six top-tier WWE talent at the same time with no rules and everything legal, until a pinfall or submission happens, this will surely be one of the most highly anticipated matches for this year’s Extreme Rules.
