Taynara Melo de Carvalho was born on June 9th, 1995 in Rio de Janeiro. She is one of four siblings with a brother and two sisters, one of whom is adopted. She grew up in Rio’s nefarious favelas. She holds a black belt in judo and a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Unaware of what pro-wrestling was:
Now this is one of the biggest shockbombs that you would receive about Conti. She was unaware of what exactly pro-wrestling was until she tried hands at WWE. She didn’t grow up watching the sport in Brazil. The only popular games in Brazil are Jiu Jitsu and football. The AEW star got her first hang of wrestling in the Mae Young Classic.
Tay Conti and Philippe Coutinho share a faint connection:
The Brazilian midfielder who has had the world in awe of his crazy football skills, was from the same school as that of Tay Conti. Conti was a gifted athlete in her school days. Coutinho was a few years senior to her but hung out with her for a while. Philippe was a part of the youth set-up at Vasco de Gama while Tay was training as a judoka.

Conti’s stint in WWE wasn’t as memorable as one would want it to be. She had asked for multiple releases before the sigh of reprieve eventually coming in 2020. Conti was a part of the inaugural Women’s Battle Royal that was conducted in the pre-show. She would also participate in the Mae Young Classic tournament in 2017 and 2018. With her appearance in the Battle Royale, she became the first Brazilian female to participate in Wrestlemania.
Conti wants to be a part of Japanese wrestling
In the Elite POV Podcast, she confessed to be a massive admirer of Japanese wrestling and if AEW does allow her to be a part of Japanese wrestling, then she would love to be a part of the same. She also attributes her connection with Japanese wrestling to her former part in Judo. She likes the style of the sport and has a strong wish of participating in the same.
